Although not inherently sexual, ageplay in Second Life is not uncommon. However, some users opt to explore sexual fantasies involving avatars that resemble children. This conduct, which is strictly prohibited by Linden Lab, is generally frowned upon by most Second Life residents and routinely results in suspension or termination of Second Life accounts. As of March 2007 Linden Lab has strictly enforced their policies regarding sexual conduct with child avatars. Unlike the internet, the framework established by Linden Lab in Second Life is unable to effectively filter content, or block users from reaching "adult" content. In its non-sexual execution, age play is usually used by role players to fill the role of the child in a virtual family.
